Christmas is the news that God draws near

In the middle of full calendars, gatherings, and expectations, Christmas invites us to remember a simple truth: in Jesus, God draws near to real people. Christian celebration does not depend on a perfect night. It begins when we make room for gratitude, reconciliation, and hope.

A Christmas prayer

Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus and for the hope that has come near to us. Teach me to notice your presence in simple things, to receive with gratitude, and to share with generosity. Bless my family and those who will be far from the table; comfort those who miss someone and open our eyes to people who need care. May Christ's light reach our words, choices, and gatherings. May I celebrate Christmas not only with my lips, but with a life more ready to love. Amen.
